Today
on 12.01.2018 a case FIR No. 11/2018 U/S 32, 33, 41, 42 The Indian Forest Act
& 379 IPC has been registered in PS Dhalli on the complaint of Sh. Anu
Thakur A/P Range Forest Officer, Koti Forest Range, Shimla Forest Division that
illicit felling of trees has taken place on the Govt. and Private land at
Bhalwog Beat at Koti Range and approximately 400 trees of different species,
such as, Vaan (Quercus Incana), Deodar (Cedar), Cheel (Pine trees) are lying on
the spot. As per FIR, the illicit felling of trees is alleged to have been done
by Bhoop Ram S/o Sh. Tulsi Ram R/o Village Shalot, PO Janedghat, Sub-Tehsil Junga, Shimla. On
the receipt of information, Dy. SP (City) Shimla alongwith SHO PS Dhalli and
other Police staff reached at the spot and inspected the place of occurrence.
Most of the illicit felling timber is lying on the spot. Besides 33 bags of
coals have also been recovered from the accused. The Police Team and the
Officers/officials of Forest Deptt. are present on the spot. The investigation
of the case is being carried out by ASI
